CondoReno’s Dutch advisory board meets to discuss IHRS financing schemes
On November 27, 2024, the CondoReno’s Dutch advisory board met for the second time gathering 22 stakeholder representatives. This time partner SVn (Stimuleringsfonds Volkshuisvesting Nederlandse Gemeenten) in Amersfoort hosted the meeting.
At the meeting, SVn presented the first experiences of new financing options for VvEs via the SVn “Future-proof maintenance fund VvEs”. The Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning presented an update of the VvE policy and experiences with the internet consultation regarding the SVVE scheme. In addition, two round table discussions were held: one on policy development and one on market development for integrated home renovation services for VvEs.
The status of the CondoReno project was also reviewed on the basis of several deliverables: the “Report on business models and actions for evaluation of integrated home renovation services”, “Process tools and training initiatives” and the “Development of financial tools and risk management”.
The last part of the meeting was a workshop/game on the integration of stakeholders in home renovation services for homeowners’ associations.
Recommendations from the Dutch advisory board for the continuation of the CondoReno project include:
• Improving communication via trade journals, publications for various groups, opinion pieces, tackling examples, participating in conferences.
• Reflecting on the financial and business aspects of GWRD.
• Taking into account policy changes: for example, the label system may be changed.
• Including smaller and medium-sized municipalities that do not yet have experience with renovations of homeowners’ association complexes in research to see what their needs are.
• Investigating how a regional approach can help.
