CondoReno Newsletter #4: Final results and lessons from four years of collaboration

Four years ago, LIFE-CondoReno started with the ambition to develop six exemplary business models for Integrated Home Renovation Services (IHRS), supporting deep renovations by homeowner associations in the Netherlands and Flanders. As the project comes to an end in September 2026, the fourth and final newsletter looks back at the project’s main achievements, results and lessons learned.

Since our last update, the project has brought together the experience gained from eight pilot projects, the development and testing of IHRS models, stakeholder engagement, training activities and exchanges with national and European actors. These results have now been consolidated in the CondoReno Final Report, together with the project’s main lessons learned and recommendations for the future.

The final newsletter also presents the latest CondoReno publications and practical resources, including tools for co-creation and quality assurance, guidance for condominium renovation, resources supporting investment decisions, and the project’s replication and exploitation work.

The experience gathered throughout CondoReno shows that condominium renovation goes well beyond technical and financial considerations. Different interests and financial capacities among co-owners, lengthy decision-making processes, legal and organisational constraints, and the need for trusted guidance all affect whether renovation projects can move forward. Integrated Home Renovation Services can help address this complexity by providing coordinated support throughout the renovation journey.

The newsletter also looks ahead to the CondoReno final event, “Scaling up renovation: One-Stop Shops meet the condominium challenge,” taking place on 29 September 2026 in Brussels and online. The event will bring together policymakers, local authorities, financial institutions, renovation experts and other stakeholders to discuss how tailored One-Stop Shops can help unlock energy renovation in Europe’s condominiums.

As CondoReno reaches its conclusion, we celebrate the knowledge, experiences and connections developed over four years of collaboration and thank all partners and stakeholders who have contributed to advancing a more sustainable future for condominium renovation across Europe.

In this final newsletter, you can discover the project’s latest results, publications and resources and look back at the key activities and achievements of LIFE-CondoReno.
