Training for renovation advisors of energy houses
How to make apartment buildings more sustainable
23 September– 21 November 2025, Ecohuis, Antwerp (Belgium)
Renovating apartments? That’s a different ball game than single-family homes.
As a renovation advisor, you know how to help residents move towards an energy-efficient home. But what if it concerns an entire apartment building, with common and private areas, collective installations, a homeowners’ association and a property manager?
In this training course, you will learn how to develop strong, comprehensive renovation advice in this complex context and how to communicate this to the customer. You will gain insight into the technical, legal and social aspects of apartment renovation. This will strengthen your role as an advisor and enable you to make a difference in apartment buildings too.
Who is it for?
For renovation advisors from energy houses in Flanders who are already familiar with home renovation and want to expand their expertise to small and medium-sized apartment buildings. This training will take place fully in Dutch.
What will you learn?
• How to draw up a comprehensive renovation plan for a small or medium-sized apartment building (this is not about a renovation master plan).
• What is the legal and financial context of co-ownership and owners’ associations.
• How to communicate with co-owners and property managers and get them on board.
• How to make technical choices regarding insulation, ventilation, heating and summer comfort.
• How to make a simulation of the financing of works and develop a financially feasible renovation proposal together with the Co-ownership Council.
How do you learn?
This programme is hybrid and practice-oriented and offers opportunities for exchange and interaction. Live teaching days with experts are supplemented by two online webinars and self-study via e-learning modules. In a practical assignment, you will draw up renovation advice for an apartment building.
