Scaling up condominium renovations: Join the CondoReno Final Event in Brussels
On 29 September 2026, the CondoReno project will host its final event, “Scaling up renovation: One-Stop Shops meet the condominium challenge,” bringing together policymakers, local authorities, financial institutions, renovation experts and key stakeholders to discuss how tailored One-Stop Shops (OSS) can unlock energy renovations in Europe’s condominiums.
The event is co-organised by the European Builders Confederation (EBC) and the International Union of Property Owners (UIPI), both partners of the LIFE CondoReno project. Taking place at the L42 Business Centre in Brussels, the event marks the culmination of four years of collaboration under the LIFE CondoReno project. It will provide a platform to present the project’s key achievements, share lessons learned from its pilot activities, and explore how integrated renovation support services can be expanded across Europe.
Tackling one of Europe’s greatest renovation challenges
Condominiums account for a large share of Europe’s residential buildings but remain among the most difficult building types to renovate. Fragmented ownership, collective decision-making, governance issues and complex financing arrangements often slow or prevent renovation projects.
Throughout the project, CondoReno has developed and tested tailored One-Stop Shop models designed specifically to address these challenges by providing coordinated technical, administrative and financial support to condominium owners and managers.
The final event offers an opportunity to discuss how these solutions can contribute to accelerating the implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) and Europe’s broader decarbonisation objectives.
Three thematic discussions
The programme is organised around three interactive sessions addressing the main barriers to condominium renovation.
Overcoming Europe’s biggest challenge
The first session explores the governance and legal complexities of condominium renovations. Experts from property owner organisations, condominium managers, local authorities and the construction sector will discuss practical approaches to overcoming collective decision-making barriers and increasing renovation uptake.
Delivering condominium renovations
The second session focuses on the role of One-Stop Shops in supporting renovation journeys. Speakers will share experiences on delivering technical assistance, engaging homeowners, ensuring technology-neutral advice and implementing renovation support services at local level.
Financing condominium renovations
The final session brings together representatives from financial institutions and public authorities to discuss innovative financing mechanisms, including collective loans, green finance instruments and funding models that can make renovations more accessible for condominium owners.
Learning from CondoReno
The event will showcase the knowledge and experience gained throughout the CondoReno project, highlighting how pilot One-Stop Shops have supported condominium renovations in different European contexts.
By bringing together public authorities, financial actors, industry representatives and building professionals, the event aims to strengthen cooperation and identify practical recommendations for scaling up integrated renovation services across Europe.
