CondoReno heads to Zagreb to discuss boosting condominium renovations in Croatia
On 27 May 2025, the European Builders Confederation (EBC) will host a workshop in Zagreb together with the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts (HOK), focused on enhancing the energy-efficient renovation of multi-apartment buildings in Croatia. Titled “Boosting Condominium Renovations: European Examples and the Croatian Market,” the event is part of the EU-funded LIFE CondoReno project, which promotes the development of integrated home renovation services (IHRS) across Europe.
The in-person workshop will gather national and European experts, building managers, government representatives, researchers, and property stakeholders to exchange practical insights on improving renovation uptake and adapting the one-stop-shop (OSS) model to the Croatian context.
Key agenda points will include an overview of Croatia’s renovation policies and available incentives, a presentation on the updated EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), and insights into the energy-saving potential of the Croatian housing stock. The CondoReno project will also present its model for integrated renovation services, showcasing European examples and exploring how this approach could be transferred to local conditions.
The workshop will feature a panel discussion addressing the specific barriers faced by co-owned buildings in Croatia, such as decision-making complexity, financing, and stakeholder engagement. The session will close with an open Q&A and a networking lunch.
As part of CondoReno’s wider replication strategy, this event will contribute to sharing best practices and supporting the rollout of renovation services tailored to national markets. The Zagreb workshop follows recent sessions in Paris and Prague and will be followed by further replication activities in Romania and Slovakia.
