Kickstarting the learning network on renovation of condominiums
Are you already in the renovation wave? If not, it is definitely still coming your way. Europe and Flanders are pushing to make heating systems fossil-free and to renovate buildings towards an A-label.
Looking at apartment buildings, we see the big challenge behind this ambition. Older apartment buildings suffer from age-related problems such as concrete rot, insufficient insulation, outdated fire safety measures, leaking roofs,… Over the next 30 years, a lot of work will have to be done to renovate these buildings and make them future-proof. A lot of work also means a lot of turnover!
To manage a future-proof renovation, we need solutions that are both affordable and sustainable. In addition, condominium associations should have a long-term vision of maintaining and improving their building and creating a smooth decision-making process.

In this learning network, we will address all these issues: we will provide an insight into the renovation process, look at it from all angles and explore solutions for recurring pain points. During the session, actors from the construction value chain share their expertise and experiences in renovating apartment buildings. These include:
- Renovation specialists, HVAC installers, construction companies
- Building owners, condominium associations and syndics
- Engineer offices
- Energy houses and renovation coaches
All sessions take place in person between 9h and 13h30 on Thursdays.
